The school of music offers excellent conditions and is part of a large university campus
The Mainz School of Music (Hochschule für Musik Mainz, university-level) is part of the Johannes Gutenberg-University Mainz with about 37 000 students. The institution offers a wide range of study programs for organists: In addition to the church music and School music studies, students can complete a two-year long master in either organ literature or organ improvisation. The school of music also provides the possibility to study "Konzertexamen” (comparable with a promotion). Through the Erasmus exchange program, students from abroad also have the opportunity to study only one or two semesters at the college. In 2009, a new building was completed for 390 students. 21 of those study organ within one of the organ programs. more
